Benjamin Verdery - Guitarist & Composer

Das Classical Guitar Magazine nennt Benjamin Verdery anerkennend "eine der bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten in der Welt der klassischen Gitarre", die New York Times bestätigt, dass er mit großer Schöpferkraft Klangwelten entstehen lässt. Benjamin Verdery kann bereits heute auf eine außergewöhnlich erfolgreiche Karriere zurückblicken.

Seit seinem gemeinsamen Debut 1980 in New York mit Ehefrau und Flötistin Rie Schmidt, gab er viele Konzerte in Europa, Asien und Nordamerika, teils mit Künstlern wie Leo Kottke, Hermann Prey und John Williams.

Benjamin veröffentlichte bislang 15 Alben, zuletzt in 2006 "Branches" mit Werken von Bach, Mozart, Strauss aber auch Hendrix und dem Traditional "Amazing Grace" sowie in 2007 die CD "First You Build A Cloud" im Duett mit dem Police Gitarristen Andy Summers.

Benjamin ist zudem leidenschaftlich gern schöpferisch tätig, zahlreiche seiner virtuosen Kompositionen wurden über die letzten Jahre aufgeführt und aufgezeichnet. Unter anderem komponierte er "Most recently, Now and Ever" für David Russell und "Peace, Love and Guitars" für John Williams und John Etheridge.
